London Air Ambulance
Back

The London Air Ambulance’s vision is to end preventable deaths from serious injury in London. The charity provides a vital service to London, helping reach people in critical conditions faster than would otherwise be possible and saving hundreds of lives every year.  The London Air Ambulance responds to, on average, five patients in London per day, aiming to give these patients not only the best chance of survival but the best quality of life after a serious injury.

Covid- 19 Safety Screens

To help the charity continue its vital work during the pandemic, The Foundation was able to fund Covid -19 safety screens. The screens were essential for the charity’s helicopters, which would allow it to transport people with Covid-19 without endangering the health of its staff.  Our support ensured these patients had access to a helicopter and the rapid treatment they need to make the best possible recovery.

Our Impact

The Chestertons Foundation’s support had a direct impact not only on the London Air Ambulance’s team but also on critically injured patients like Steve and Satcha among others who the London Air Ambulance treats every day.

2019 Donation

The London Air Ambulance services provide pre-hospital advanced medical care to victims of serious injury at the scene of the incident, by delivering a senior trauma Doctor and trained paramedic.

The Chesterton Foundation’s 2019 donation made a measurable impact and supported the running of the service. This included helping to buy equipment such as the Chrysalis stretcher, which is used when rescuing patients from restricted spaces, and to fund a special kit for a newly seconded doctor/paramedic and includes a fire retardant suit ensuring they are mission ready
