Who We Are
A family value, turned into global impact.
The Chestertons Foundation was founded in 2019 by Salah Mussa, a successful serial entrepreneur and active philanthropist.
In 2005, Salah Mussa acquired Chestertons estate agency, originally established in 1805 and expanded it into one of London's most successful property businesses. Today, Mr. Mussa heads Chestertons Global Ltd, which operates across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and the Caribbean.
While our original mission focused on tackling social mobility, food insecurity, education gaps, and housing issues in London, our reach grew rapidly alongside the global business network. In 2024, the organisation officially became the Chestertons International Foundation, expanding its scope to fund impactful organisations across the four continents where the Chestertons Global Network operates.
A legacy of giving, carried across generations.
Giving back to society is a deeply rooted family value. Our Chairman, Salah Mussa, draws his philanthropic inspiration from his father, Mohamed Mussa.
Growing up in Libya under Italian occupation, Mohamed Mussa faced severe hardships and often lacked access to basic necessities. Following Libyan independence, he built a successful business career, eventually moving to London and establishing a prominent international real estate and commercial portfolio.
Having experienced early hardships firsthand, Mohamed Mussa championed the importance of charity throughout his life. He was widely recognized for his philanthropy, consistently supporting disadvantaged families both in Libya and abroad.
This commitment to sharing success by giving back to the community remains embedded in the Mussa family. Today, Salah Mussa, his wife and his children carry this deep passion forward, honoring and continuing Mohamed Mussa's lasting legacy.
