Digital Recovery and Vocational Empowerment with St Mungo's
Investing $227,205 to fund St Mungo's Digital Recovery College and vocational programs, providing direct grants, specialized training, and emergency pandemic housing for over 4,000 vulnerable individuals across London
Real Impact: Real Numbers
Our direct grants focus heavily on modern digital access and personal upskilling. Together with our partners, we have achieved:
- • Digital Recovery Framework Funded: A $93,555 direct grant enabling the charity to offer modern online learning, training, and job services.
- • Chairman's Strategic Pledge: An additional $66,825 pledge by Foundation Chairman Salah Mussa to directly expand remote educational equity.
- • Putting Down Roots Support: A $13,365 development grant for specialized horticultural therapy to build confidence and teamwork.
- • Coordinated Dinner Multiplier: Directing a $53,460 share of our inaugural charity dinner proceeds to maximize immediate frontline services.
- • 4,000 People Shielded During Crisis: Redirecting resources during the pandemic to complete 791 emergency volunteer hours, helping vulnerable people isolate safely within protective temporary housing.
Progress and Moving Forward
The specialized vocational platforms and community facilitators we collaborate with on the ground completely transformed rehabilitation models across London. By providing the digital infrastructure required to deliver remote training, this project established an agile model for social mobility. Moving forward, the foundation's historical initiatives in the UK serve as the operational blueprint for our expanded global education and community resilience frameworks
Real Impact, Real Numbers
‘First Response has made a huge difference and wouldn’t have been possible without support from The Chestertons Foundation. Our fantastic First Response volunteers spend hours searching the streets looking for vulnerable people sleeping rough across London to make sure they are supported. Their incredible contribution means that our outreach teams can dedicate more time to offering people routes out of homelessness and towards recovery.’
