Honouring a Visionary: A New Re-Granting Allocation to IMET2000 in Memory of Professor Colin Green
We are proud to officially announce a new significant grant awarded to IMET2000 for another year. This immediate funding infusion helps ensure their mobile clinical pipelines stay fully resourced and active.
By Chestertons International Foundation

We commit this grant in memory of the late Professor Colin Green. A prominent British scientist, surgeon, and global humanitarian, he served as the Founder and Director of Corporate Development for IMET2000, a charity he established in the year 2000.The Chestertons International Foundation has officially announced a significant re-granting allocation to the International Medical Education Trust (IMET2000) following our Global Annual Conference in Cyprus. This funding directly supports our core Health and Medical Care pillar, ensuring that vital frontline medical supplies stay fully resourced for rural outreach and mobile ophthalmic surgical clinics.
This precision grant is delivered in profound respect, honoring the lifelong legacy of the late Professor Colin Green, the visionary founder, pioneering surgeon, and heart behind IMET2000. Professor Green dedicated his career to the principle that professional success brings a clear duty to protect vulnerable communities facing adversity. By continuing to back his foundational vision, our mobile clinical pipelines are actively addressing severe, progressive medical backlogs in rural regions.
Richard Field, the IMET2000 Representative and Safeguarding Officer in Uganda, notes that patients frequently arrive at these outreach clinics having suffered from preventable blindness for up to eight or nine years. Our targeted project grants fund life-altering cataract operations that remove the immediate struggle for physical survival. Within days of entering the clinic, patients undergo surgical restoration and walk out entirely self-reliant, returning to employment, schooling, and independent community commerce.
